Engineering Superintendent – Sunrise Dam Gold Mine

Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia’s premier gold mines. This large-scale underground operation employs more than 650 people and produces approximately 300,000 ounces of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

We are now seeking a Superintendent: Engineering to join our Maintenance & Engineering team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on a permanent basis. This role is located on site based on a FIFO 8/6 or equivalent roster.

Accountable to the Manager: Maintenance & Engineering, this is a permanent position that requires a highly energetic person who can work autonomously in a fast paced environment to join the motivated Sunrise Dam team.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Management of the engineering discipline across all assets at the Sunrise Dam site, including Processing Plant, Underground and Infrastructure assets
• Leadership of an engaged team of personnel in the Engineering team
• Management of the site Engineering Project List
• Scoping, project management and implementation for maintenance and capital projects
• Engineering reviews and engineering design for various scale engineering projects
• Coordination of engineering consultant work
• Development of asset management strategy and plans
• Management of site Reliability function and Condition Monitoring program
• Management of the site Asset Integrity program
• Management of site Drafting & Document management function
• Long term strategic planning
• Life cycle costing for equipment
• Development of operational and capital budgets
• Development of long range expenditure forecasts
• Integration of project work and asset management strategies into planning systems

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical/structural)
• 10+ years industry engineering experience
• Plant maintenance experience within the mining industry
• Strong engineering design experience
• Extensive experience in project management
• Demonstrated capital project experience
• A strong continuous improvement focus
• Ability to effectively plan work and manage multiple priorities
• Budgeting and cost management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to engage lead and coach a team of experienced professionals and technical personnel
• Experience in implementing Reliability Centred Maintenance principles
• Understanding of SAP and CMMS functionality
• Current WA drivers license
• National Police Clearance
• Existing and ongoing permanent Australian working rights (Mandatory)
