AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA) is the world’s fourth largest gold producer with operations and projects on four continents. We are now seeking 2 x Contract Officers to join our Contract Services team within the Supply Chain function in the Perth Corporate Office.

These are newly created permanent roles that are accountable to the Category Specialist and are required to provide efficient and effective support to the Services Contracts team. Key to success in this role is being able to manage and prioritise the workload and to complete tasks accurately and to agreed timelines. The role is required to work autonomously but also as part of a team. The successful person for this role needs to optimise costs incurred by the organisation whilst serving the end-users requirements, through a thorough understanding of the business’ needs and the application of contract lifecycle processes to deliver Supply Chain strategies.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to, and delivery of, procurement strategies, including annual and long-term plans to deliver the best outcome for the business including cost savings and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities within categories, to inform planning activities.
  • Implement and manage tendering processes (eg RFT, RFQ, RFP), including evaluation and award.
  • Working with stakeholders to determine contractual requirements including necessity for amendments or extension of contracts.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Supply Chain systems and processes to deliver services to the business in a competitive and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, business partners, regulators, government and other stakeholders, utilising these relationships to successfully communicate any issues or opportunities and to resolve issues if, or when, they arise.
  • Ability to effectively draft contracts and associated documentation in consultation with the Category Specialist and Legal function.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a Contracts Officer role or similar.
  • Diploma in Contract Management/ Administration or similar and/or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar discipline and/or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • A thorough knowledge of contract lifecycle and category management processes.
  • Mining experience (preferred)
  • SAP experience and BI reporting will be well regarded.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicative skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A self-starter with the ability to effectively time manage, work efficiently and autonomously.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organisational skills
  • Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Teams.
  • A National Police Clearance
  • Permanent work rights in Australia
  • You must be able to provide a COVID-19 Digital Certificate or current Immunisation History Statement showing vaccination against COVID-19 or that an exemption to vaccination has been granted and recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register
