Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) is an ASX listed gold producer with its core assets located in world class gold provinces in Western Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Response Coordinator for our Carosue Dam Operations situated 120kms north east of Kalgoorlie, WA.

Building on the foundation of its three existing underground mines Carosue Dam is recommencing  Open Pit Operations. This is an exciting time to be part of the next growth phase of Saracen.

Considerable investments by the company into exploration and resource development including the construction of a sealed air strip, new state of the art paste plant and Mill expansion project make Carosue Dam an exciting and expanding project to be a part of.

Reporting to the HSEC Manager this position is responsible for managing a team of Safety Advisors/Medics and providing medical, emergency response as well as coordinating the training and development of all Operational Emergency Response Teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating Emergency Response training and ensuring competency levels of ER team members are maintained to a high standard
  • Ensuring site emergency response equipment is serviced and maintained within appropriate timeframes and by suitably qualified personnel
  • Ensuring the Emergency Response facility is maintained and stocked to a high degree
  • Ensuring the onsite medical facilities are maintained and sufficient stock is maintained in line with conditions established in the poison permit
  • Inspecting the site’s facilities to assess existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated
  • Providing input in relation to safety systems, policies and procedures to be followed by site personnel in compliance with local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
  • Providing an advisory and supportive role to Department Heads into HSEC issues and incident/accident investigation processes and reporting requirements
  • Devising, supervising and coordinating safety and emergency response inductions and associated training programs to increase awareness of safety in the workplace
  • Other duties as directed by the HSEC Manager

Skills and Experience:

  • Recognised Safety and Health Certification
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Certificate III in underground mines rescue
  • ERT Experience including conducting training courses
  • Previous Mining Operational Experience in a role within metalliferous mining preferred
  • “C” class driver’s license
