Environmental Advisor

The Environmental Advisor plays an important role in supporting the sustainability teams’ functional purpose of improved environmental outcomes for the organisation and the community.

  • Assist with guidance and implementation of sustainable mine plans and projects;
  • Resource efficiency – collate, review, analyse and report back on climate-related risk metrics;
  • Assist with audit, review and reporting on our site’s environmental performance;
  • Location – Sydney, may be required to travel to our operations.

About the role

As an Environmental Advisor, you will provide support to the Manager in the review of environmental events and improvement plans at our operations. With an understanding of climate-related risks (water, energy and extreme weather) you will contribute to developing and meeting targets through the implementation of initiatives and feasibility options studies.

Key result areas in this role also include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to drive positive environmental outcomes;
  • Assisting in developing and implementing strategic business plans across the assets to achieve organisational goals;
  • Maintaining sustainability (health, safety, security, environmental and social responsibility) standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

About you

As an applicant for this role mining experience will be highly regarded or experience working in remote areas. It also supports you if you have/can demonstrate:

  • 5 years minimum working in environment, land, water and/or energy conservation;
  • Bachelors degree majoring in Environment, Sustainability or equivalent (preferred);
  • Sound understanding of emissions and energy measures, analytics and risk mitigation.
