Norton’s Graduate Program focuses on building technical skills through on-the-job learning and coaching by professional and technical experts. Norton’s Graduate Program is a two-year development journey supported by our world-class resources. Each graduate will be assigned a mentor at the start of the program. Participants can expect to undergo formal and informal training to develop their technical, managerial, and administrative skills. Depending on your discipline, the program can include internal workshops, training courses, coaching, job rotation, and site rotation.

Location: Paddington, Kalgoorlie – Boulder WA, Australia

Roster:  8:6 – 2 year – Full-time Fixed Term

Residential: Kalgoorlie/Boulder

This role facilitates the optimal production of gold ore from the mining operations.

About Norton Gold Fields

Norton Gold Fields is seeking highly motivated and disciplined graduate geologists to be trained and assist with our geology function across exploration, resource development, and mining. Candidates will demonstrate the Norton values of zero harm, teamwork, innovation, performance-driven, and efficiency during their daily work.


  • A focus on personal and team safety with the goal of zero harm;
  • Undertaking field related tasks as required;
  • Exposure to Geological mapping;
  • Exposure to RC drill hole logging;
  • Exposure to Diamond core logging;
  • Exposure to open-pit and underground mining;
  • Manage drill and assay data;
  • Monitor QA/QC of sampling data;
  • Maintain and validate material production data;
  • Working with the mine planning team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary degree in Geology;
  • Previous mining industry experience (preferred);
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Current unrestricted WA C class licence.
