Gold Fields Australia Surveyor Graduate Program

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join their mining department at St Ives Gold Mine. St Ives comprises of two underground operations, as well as open-pit operations, and employs a current survey team totaling 11 members.

This position is for first and second-year graduates within the survey field looking at commencing their career within an international gold mining company. The Gold Fields Australia graduate survey program offers tailored mentoring, technical development and role-specific training to help you succeed. We support our graduates with unique technical development that begins with a flexible two-year program.

This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie. Bus transportation is offered to and from site daily, and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required. Fly-in, Fly-out (FIFO) option will also be available for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Superintendent: Survey you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of production and development targets of the underground operations through the provision of a comprehensive survey control service that meets internal survey and environmental health and safety standards. Exposure to open-pit surveying will also form part of the graduate program to round out a surveyors skill set.

Key factors to your success include:

  • Completion of your Tertiary Qualification at the end of 2020 (for Graduates this is a pre-requisite);
  • WA C class manual drivers licence;
  • Ability to obtain a national police clearance;
  • Prior mine site experience as a Vacation Student is not essential but would be highly regarded for the graduate program;
  • All applicants will be required to submit a copy of their Academic Transcript.
