Role Details:

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you would assist the processing team in ensuring business outcomes are achieved by providing safe, appropriate, professional and cost-effective support through monitoring and reporting on plant activities and developing and implementing optimisation strategies.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) from Perth.

Duties of the role:

  • Consistently achieve budgeted production performance, including tonnes treated, gold produced and plant recovery;
  • Effective planning, management and monitoring of activities whilst maintaining statutory compliance;
  • Utilise assets to maximise return, including the development and application of new procedures, processes and technology;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement by analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvements to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operational performance;
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the Process Operators, Laboratory Operators and Metallurgical Assistants and ongoing technical support to the broader Processing Department;
  • Assist with the implementation and continuation of ICMI cyanide code compliance;
  • Correct and/or report safety and environmental hazards when identified to mitigate risk and reduce the occurrence of incidents and/or injury;
  • Consider the financial impact of your actions so that you can proactively participate in and assist your team to manage costs effectively;
  • Build strong, productive interpersonal relationships within the Processing Department, other areas of the business.

About You

You will have:

  • A recognised tertiary degree in Metallurgy or relevant discipline;
  • Sound knowledge of process technologies and equipment;
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a mineral processing plant;
  • Exposure to implementation of ICMI cyanide code;
  • Ideally licenced under Radiation Safety Act (Fixed Gauges);
  • Valid drivers licence.
