Norton Gold Fields is one of Australia’s largest domestic gold producers, with a recent annual production of up to 200,000 ounces. The Company has a mining and processing complex in Western Australia’s world-class Kalgoorlie goldfield region, including a highly prospective tenement package of more than 1,000km² surrounding the 3.8Mtpa Paddington Mill.
Currently, Norton Gold Fields is progressing its expansion of two underground mine sites namely Tuart and Enterprise and various open pit projects such as Federal, Jakarta, Golden Funnel, Rose Dam South and Rose Dam North this year.


  • Conduct risks assessments for field tasks at a team and individual level;
  • Complete regular safety inspections of grade control drill rigs and ancillary equipment;
  • Assist Geologists and Surveyors in completing ore markups, geological mapping, clast hole sampling ensuring no unplanned standby of mining equipment due to ore not being marked up;
  • Ensure samples meet the GC QC sampling standards before removal of samples from the drill site;
  • Reporting any non-compliance in sampling or drilling technique immediately to the driller and Senior Geologist;
  • Maintain electronic records of all sample submissions and drilling completed by the Open Pit Geology team, ensure paper copies and files are accessible;
  • Regular stockpile sampling, ensuring data is recorded showing assayed grades.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role;
  • Forklift Licence (desirable);
  • 4WD competent and experience working in remote locations (desirable);
  • Knowledge (or formal training) of geological sampling theory (desirable);
  • Experience in conducting geological/geochemical sampling programs (desirable);
  • Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence;
  • Satisfactory NPC clearance;
  • Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship.
