Norton Gold Fields is one of Australia’s largest domestic gold producers, with a recent annual production of up to 200,000 ounces. The Company has a mining and processing complex in Western Australia’s world-class Kalgoorlie goldfield region, including a highly prospective tenement package of more than 1,000km² surrounding the 3.8Mtpa Paddington Mill.
Currently, Norton Gold Fields is progressing its expansion of two underground mine sites namely Tuart and Enterprise and various open pit projects such as Federal, Jakarta, Golden Funnel, Rose Dam South and Rose Dam North this year.

Duties:

  • This role is geared towards exploration across the Norton Gold Fields lease holding and will be responsible for coordinating and managing green-fields drilling programs and tenement administration;
  • Through data acquisition, the Project Geologist is to provide a geologic interpretation of the drilling results to gain a geologic understanding of the mineralised system (defining a resource).

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology;
  • Member AusIMM;
  • An understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems;
  • An aptitude for exploration concepts and techniques;
  • An understanding of mining tenements, administration and OHS&E;
  • Concise and efficient at report writing and other geological documentation;
  • Skilled in mining and GIS software, preferably, Mapinfo, Leapfrog and Surpac and with exposure to exploration geostatistical packages (IOGAS or other);
  • Current ‘C’ Class WA manual drivers licence;
  • Hold a National Police Clearance.
