We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Geologist – Resources to join our talented and dynamic geology team at our Kalgoorlie Operations.

This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields, working a 8:6 – 12-hour roster reporting to the Senior Geologist – Resources and offers the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of challenging and rewarding technical disciplines. The primary responsibilities of the role will include:

• Continuously providing geological excellence through interpretation, modelling, and estimation.
• Working collaboratively to identify growth opportunities with a world class deposit.
• Contributing to all mine geology and technical functions.

Requirements

A hunger and passion for geology and statistics. A ‘Can-do’ attitude a production drive with technical thinking. The successful candidate will be team spirited with a collaborative approach.

Essential

• A degree in Geology, preferably with Honours, from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Minimum 5 years geological experience in the mining industry, the majority of which is preferably in gold.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in logging, sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), resource development and reconciliation.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office.
• Experience in the use of Geological Software (Datamine, Leapfrog, Supervisor or similar).
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Preferred

• Operations experience (open pit and/or underground) in a hard rock environment.
• Exploration or Resource Development experience in gold.
• Knowledge of geological and mineralisation modelling in Leapfrog
• Some familiarity with classical and geostatistical estimation methods (ordinary kriging, inverse distance, nearest neighbour)
