Safety Advisor

Northern Star Resources Ltd is searching for an experienced Safety Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Department at the Kalgoorlie-based KCGM operation.

The successful candidate will undertake the maintenance, development and enforcement of Occupational Health and Safety standards across site and departments, to ensure ongoing Legislative and Company compliances.

This residential position is on an 8/6 roster, working 11 hour days, providing a great work-home life balance – be home every night!

Requirements
Essential:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role, within the resources sector;
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation;
  • Experience in the facilitation of risk management processes;
  • Experience with facilitation of incident-investigation processes (ICAM);
  • Strong level of administration and computer skills;
  • Must reside within the Goldfields region, or be willing to relocate for this residential site;
  • Current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class manual drivers licence.

Preferred:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a similar role, ideally within the resources sector;
  • Experience with incident investigation modelling;
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessing;
  • Qualifications in Investigation methodology i.e. Essential Factors, ICAM;
  • Understanding of applicable Australian Standards and Mines Safety legislation;
  • Audit certification.
