About the role

Reporting to the Underground Mining Superintendent, this role involves leading the Mine Engineering team in generating and delivering underground mine designs and schedules, engaging with peers in reporting routines, providing technical guidance, improving performance and methods, and collaborating with Operations and Mine Planning teams.

Key Responsibilities will include:

•  Ensuring all legislative and regulatory requirements are met and adhered to
• Aligning mine planning, review, development, and operations with business objectives and Evolution policies.
• Setting and maintaining mining development and production schedules to meet annual budgets.
• Administering mining contracts to achieve desired outcomes.
• Mentoring and developing direct reports using available P&C tools.
• Assisting in developing and implementing long-term strategic planning systems and processes.
• Creating accurate weekly and monthly production plans, including drill and blast schedules.
• Conducting QA/QC on development and production activities, tracking compliance with plans
• Championing Evolution Mining’s values and commitment to safety, environment, inclusion and diversity, and emissions reduction (Net Zero).

About you

You will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Bach of Engineering – Mining Qualifications
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar Senior Mining Engineer role in hard rock underground mining
• A competent mining engineer who is familiar with WHS (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and WHS (Mines) Regulation 2014
• High safety awareness through hazard identification and risk assessment
• Exceptional experience in safety systems, strategic planning, budgeting and cost control
• Experienced in underground production mining techniques as well as mine design and optimisation software
• The ability to apply work standards including working cooperatively, establishing professional connections, organising and planning, producing outcomes, assessing data and using technology and knowledge
• Prioritising and scheduling jobs effectively to meet deadlines and ensure optimal results
• Proficiency in Deswik software and use of MS Office tools and mine planning software
