Due to a regional expansion of the HSR function, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Site Nurse (Regional Support) to join our Health and Safety (Operations) team based out of the Perth Offices.

The Senior Site Nurse (Regional Support) is to actively contribute to the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Health and Hygiene Management strategy and programs, including the provision of nursing services to site personnel as required, the effective maintenance of medical-related systems, relevant medical and health records and documentation, and to coordinate biological sample collection and reporting to DMIRS.

Accountable to the Supt Health and Hygiene (Operations), this role will require flexibility, particularly for unplanned or emergency coverage. When based in Perth the role would be expected to be a 5/2 roster and while on Site it could be expected to be an 8/6 fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) roster.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Primary medical and emergency treatment;
  • Coordinate off-site referral processes through Injury Management Provider and Medical Providers;
  • Provide timely reporting and updates on the outcome and status of injuries;
  • Management of medical centre and equipment;
  • Conduct or coordinate alcohol and drug screening, audiometric testing, lung function and other on-site health testing/assessments as required;
  • Prepare and maintain medical and health-related records and registers and relevant reports/scorecards;
  • Review pre-placement and other medical assessments;
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Health budget for capital and operational requirements to achieve the required targets;
  • Future-proofing the capability of Health/Emergency Response capability to meet with the changing business requirements to deliver the LoM strategy;
  • Support the development and maintenance of processes for the workgroup creating a culture of continuous improvement to lift the efficiency and effectiveness of the work outputs.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as Registered Nurse, preferably with emergency experience;
  • 3 years remote/mining RN experience;
  • Registered Nurse (RN) (NMBA/AHPRA registration) CRANA certification (desirable);
  • Intermediate Life Support (ILS);
  • Specimen Collection Authorised Drug Screen Collection Officer;
  • Proficiency in health and medical databases and Microsoft Office tools;
  • High-level of experience in the injury management process and knowledge of Western Australian Workers Compensation System;
  • Broad understanding of health and safety and  hazard and risk management processes;
  • Experience and confidence to deliver health-related presentations;
  • Current full West Australian “C” class drivers licence;
  • Permanent work rights in Australia;
  • A National Police Clearance.
