We are now seeking a Sustainability Systems Coordinator to join our Growth and Exploration team in Perth.

Accountable to VP Sustainability – Growth and Exploration, this role is responsible for maintaining systems that will enable exploration to be conducted in accordance with statutory and company requirements. This role is global in scope and includes generative exploration and specialists support.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Alignment, implementation and maintaining of a compliant ISO14001: 2015 and ISO45001:2018 sustainability system;
  • Improve and maintain a global sustainability system that complies with growth and exploration, corporate, regional and country standards and requirements;
  • Ensure effective document management, review and control processes for the sustainability system;
  • Monitoring compliance to the sustainability system and escalate issues as appropriate;
  • Monitoring progress on action plans (arising from audits, incidents, hazards etc.) and tracking that corrective actions required by audits are completed and are following due process and priorities;
  • Provide input into the development, improvement, and maintenance of the sustainability system for the regions and globally. Streamlining of processes and amalgamation of optimised workflows to minimise the administrative burden on end-users;
  • Ensure the best options for accessibility and workability is in place for users and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Professional qualification(s) in sustainability or related discipline;
  • +5 years of experience in sustainability management in mining, preferably with exposure to exploration activities;
  • Practical baseline knowledge of exploration and mining including drilling operations, field activities, aviation and logistics, integrated management systems, auditing, risk management, and international standards;
  • Ability to be an effective role model and mentor;
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural and cross-functional communication skills;
  • Self-motivated, well organised with attention to detail and adaptable, with high initiative and good communication and negotiation skills;
  • Flexibility regarding challenging tasks and assignment of priorities;
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, database management, risk assessment, incident management and reporting;
  • Medically fit to work in remote locations and to maintain relevant vaccination requirements;
  • Fluent English and preferably with a competent level of Spanish, French or Portuguese;
  • Valid current passport;
  • Permanent work rights in Australia.
