Reporting to the Superintendent: Processing, the Training Advisor is primarily responsible to ensure the competence of all processing personnel to do their job safely. You will be responsible to coordinate all training requirements for the processing department and supporting the safety management systems and initiatives to maintain a safe workplace.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:

  • Analyse processing department training requirements to establish training calendars, select programs etc.;
  • Deliver quality training, source and coordinate internal and external training programs including regular auditing, review & assessment of training materials;
  • Review training functions and develop material and assessments requirements, including gaining approval of & implementing a competency framework for operational personnel;
  • Schedule required training;
  • Support and mentor safe work practices with operational personnel including effective on the job operational skills for the practical operation of the processing plant;
  • Contribute to maintaining site certification in ISO14001 and the International Cyanide Management Code;
  • Conduct safety engagement discussions, audits and inspections of the processing plant;
  • Maintain safety and training equipment within the processing department;
  • Contribute to and assist processing personnel with safety meetings and incident investigations.

 

About you:

  • Qualification in Training and Assessment
  • Qualification in OH&S would be advantageous
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven operational experience in the mining industry – preferably gold
  • Prior experience in designing and delivery of job specific training
  • An in-depth knowledge of fixed plant isolation requirements and permit to work systems.
  • Valid Manual Western Australian Drivers Licence
  • Experience using Learning Management System (LMS) highly regarded
  • Experience using INX package highly regarded
