Gold Fields 2024 – 2025 Vacation Student Program

The Gold Fields Vacation Program runs from December 2024 – February 2025 and offers tailored mentoring, technical development and role specific training to help you succeed. You’ll learn from our international team of talented professionals, exchanging knowledge, building skills and gaining experience at one of our four mine sites.

We are seeking applications from passionate & motivated students keen to commence their career as a Vacation Student: Control Systems Engineer. These roles will be offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth.

About you:

  • Ideally in 2nd year or above of your Control & Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering Tertiary Qualification
  • Experience or an interest in PLC and SCADA systems
  • C Class Manual Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Exposure and/or experience in a mining environment would be highly regarded
  • Prior experience working 12 hour shifts and adhering to safety procedures would be beneficial
  • Ability to follow instructions, pick up new tasks / software systems and work in a team environment
  • Familiarity being in remote locations and any experience being underground would be an advantage, but not essential
