About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Junior Geologist to join our growing team. This opportunity is offering a competitive remuneration package + a discretionary bonus within a continuously growing company, whilst on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster.

You will be doing but not limited to the below:

Collection and recording of accurate, high quality geological and geochemical data conforming to the company procedures, and a basic understanding of QA/QC concepts.
Assist in maintaining data collection records and systems including but not limited to sample trackers, production trackers, drill hole trackers, LogChief uploads/backups and filed paper hard copies.
Implement sludge sampling programs at the request of the Senior Geologist, ensuring that all holes are drilled to plan, good quality representative samples are taken and geological, sampling and meta-data are representative and recorded accurately.
Supervise, process, log and sample diamond drilling programs.
Geological mapping exercises in which geological features are observed, measured, and documented.
Produce regular production reports documenting monthly reconciliation performances, with reference to relevant geological or other pertinent factors.

What do I need?

Tertiary Qualification in Geology

Relevant geological experience:
Experience in gold mining
Strong computer literacy skills and excellent communication skills with all levels of operation
Possesses a current and valid Manual Driver’s Licence
Possesses a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months
The ability to pass Westgold’s pre-employment process
