Superintendent: Electrical Maintenance – Sunrise Dam Gold Mine

Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia’s premier gold mines. This large-scale underground operation employs more than 650 people and produces approximately 300,000 ounces of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

We are now seeking an Electrical Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at the Sunrise Dam mine site.

Reporting to the Manager: Maintenance and Engineering, this permanent position is accountable for the Electrical Maintenance and Compliance for all assets across the Sunrise Dam site.  The role is based onsite based on an 8/5 4/4 FIFO or equivalent roster.

The main tasks of the roles include:

• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, delivering compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems and processes
• Manage electrical work and compliance across all assets at the Sunrise Dam mine site, including Processing Plant, Underground and Infrastructure assets
• Maintaining all Electrical statutory requirements, including statuary appointments and records for the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine
• Manage a team of motivate Electrical Supervisors across the site
• Support and execute the implementation of the asset management strategy and work management process for Electrical assets at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine
• Provide coaching, mentoring and development of Electrical team and Maintenance personnel
• Manage Electrical requirements for the installation, maintenance, commissioning, operation, testing and decommission of the machines and equipment
• Develop, implement, review and modify standards for Electrical Maintenance work
• Identification and implementation of continuous improvement projects for the site
• Set and deliver key performance indicators targets for the Electrical Maintenance team
• Root cause Investigation of events and management of remedial actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Budget preparation and delivery of the site Electrical maintenance budget

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A strong commitment towards leading a safe work culture

• Demonstrated experience in Work Management principles and KPI Management
• Five or more years working in a supervisory capacity
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels within the organisation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A current Western Australian “A” Grade Electrical Workers License
• A high level of computer literacy and experience with CMMS systems
• Strong decision making and negotiating skills
• Professional work ethic and behaviour
• A focus and demonstrated ability in continuous improvement practises
• Experience in Budgeting and cost control
• Degree or trade qualifications; in addition FLM qualification will be well regarded
• Be able to attain a national police clearance
• Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory)
