COVID-19 Update
Australian gold companies recognise the COVID-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented global challenge that requires all members of society to come together.
The industry is working closely with local residents, Indigenous peoples, health authorities and State and Federal Government officials to protect its workforce, suppliers, service providers and surrounding communities, while continuing to safely produce gold during this challenging time.
The gold industry provides the economic lifeblood to many regional Australian communities, with gold miners paying hundreds of millions in taxes and royalties each year to build vital infrastructure and fund essential community services.
Providing jobs in a time where many other sectors are forced to suspend operations is supporting families and communities across the nation and is ensuring aid relief can continue to service our society’s most vulnerable.
