GIG Chair and Gold Fields VP Legal and Compliance Kelly Carter led the industry panel to tackle the topic ‘Working from home – a golden opportunity or a cage with gold bars?’ resulting in a surprising win.

    Victoria’s largest gold miner, Kirkland Lake Gold, has marked the 16th year of its Fosterville Community Grants Program, awarding a total of 238 local community groups more than $418,600 since 2005. The aim of the Program is to support projects that provide specific sustainable outcomes which have long-lasting benefits to the wider community.

  • NAIDOC Netball Carnival turns 18

    The Gold Industry Group backed 2021 NAIDOC Netball Carnival saw more than 2,500 netballers and their families take part, with teams travelling from across the State to proudly represent their communities on Sunday 7 November in the nation’s biggest Indigenous carnival. 110 teams competed at the Gold Netball Centre for an 18th year, growing from 10 teams in 2004. This year players travelled from far and wide including Albany, Bunbury, Katanning, Karratha, Leonora, Narrogin, Perth and Tambellup, competing across eight age divisions.

  • A golden October for netball community

    125 netballers from Great Southern, North West and Wheatbelt Goldfields netball associations were immersed in the grand heritage of The Perth Mint while learning about the value of gold to our nation ahead of the State Cup in October. The regional netballers were treated to one-hour guided tour of the historic Perth Mint, including the Gold Exhibition and the original melting house, experiencing the emotive journey of gold discovery in Western Australia.
