A traineeship is a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction under the supervision of a professional, either full-time or part-time over 12 months, during which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of their chosen occupation.
Traineeships are perfect for people with little or no mining experience, as depending on your performance may lead to permanent positions within the company. Earn while you learn, and leave armed with a practical understanding and the basic skills to kick-start your career in gold.
KCGM is committed to employing locally where possible, therefore applicants for trainee positions are required to have been living in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for at least six months. Information sessions are held at 10am on the third Thursday of each month at Hannans North Tourist Mine, and KCGM promote workplace diversity, therefore candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
