A traineeship is a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction under the supervision of a professional, either full-time or part-time over 12 months, during which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of their chosen occupation.
Traineeships are perfect for people with little or no mining experience, as depending on your performance may lead to permanent positions within the company. Earn while you learn, and leave armed with a practical understanding and the basic skills to kick-start your career in gold.
Swick Mining Services
Swick’s Program takes place at a purpose-built training facility that simulates life on a drill rig and supports trainees in completing a National Certificate in Mineral Drilling Exploration. Trainees learn the basic skills required to become an Offsider, which includes setting up a drill site, correct rod handling techniques and use of tools, basic surveying and pre-starts, workplace inspections and reporting.
The Apprenticeship Community
The Apprenticeship Community offer a multitude of free services for apprentices and trainees.
