Position: Communications Technician

 

Work Location: Thunderbox Operations – located in the highly prospective Yandal Belt and the Agnew-Wiluna Belt in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia

 

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

 

Here’s what awaits you:

 

  • Implement minor software/hardware/graphic interface changes as directed in accordance with site operating procedures, tools and methodologies.
  • Assist with commissioning and start-up of new installations.
  • Provide support to continuous improvement projects within the Mining Department.
  • Assist in the development of operational and functional procedures related to systems.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years relevant experience in the mining industry, underground communications experience highly regarded.
  • Experience with mining communication hardware and software applications, including but not limited to Motorola VHF Digital Radio Systems, UG Leaky Feeder, Sandvik Automine, Personnel and Equipment Tracking and Proximity Systems, PLC Programming, SM and MM Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing, Commissioning and Fault Finding, CITECT SCADA Telemetry, Wireless and Fixed Network Infrastructure. 

Qualifications:

  • Cert III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
  • Restricted Electrical Licence and Registered Cabler License (endorsed Co-axial, Fibre and structured cabling) will be highly regarded. We will provide training if not already licensed.
  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
