The mining maintenance team at Granny Smith have an opportunity for a Dewatering Technician to join their team.

 

Role Details:

Reporting to the Leading Hand: Electrical, you will be responsible for assisting the mining maintenance team to dewater Wallaby mine safely and efficiently.  This will be achieved by managing, installing, repairing, and monitoring dewatering infrastructure including pumps (diesel and electric), bores, and site infrastructure whilst following policies and procedures, along with statutory regulations.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:

  • Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing or modifications to equipment in such a way as to maximise machine mechanical availability and increase operating efficiency.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance of underground dewatering system.
  • Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis and repair of damaged pumps, and all dewatering infrastructure.
  • Maintain ancillary equipment.
  • Carry out the regular review of maintenance processes and investigate, assess and where appropriate, propose modern technology.
  • Prioritise resource and coordinate all unplanned work that arises over the course of the week.

 

About you:

  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance of borefield and water treatment equipment
  • Valid W.A Manual Driver’s License
  • Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs, AMT, SAP would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and application of relevant statutory obligations
  • HR license, Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift tickets would be advantageous to your application
