Environment Advisor

Northern Star is currently seeking an experienced Environment Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Department at our world-class Kalgoorlie Operations – KCGM. This position is offered as a permanent residential opportunity on a 5:2/4:3 roster.

The Environment Advisor will assist in the delivery and maintenance of high-quality analysis, reporting and management programs for nominated environment aspects. Undertake permitting and approval related work for growth projects. Meet the requirements and standards of KCGM, Northern Star Resources Limited and community and government agencies.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Hold a Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent;
  • Experience in a similar role, including in compliance, permitting and approval activities;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills;
  • A high level of planning and analytical skills;
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Database skills;
  • Current, unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class drivers licence;
  • Must be willing to relocate in the Goldfields region for this residential site;
  • GIS proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Previous experience with Western Australian mining project approvals, land tenure and Part IV and V Environmental Protection Act processes;
  • Previous experience in the mining industry;
  • Able to motivate others to deliver outcomes.
