About our role:

Northern Star Resources has exciting opportunities at our world class Carosue DamJundee Operations for an experienced Gold Room Technician working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster FIFO ex Perth

The Gold Room Technician reports to the Processing Supervisor and the primary role is to operate all gold recovery sections of the Processing Plant, along with the day to day running of the gold room. This includes all gravity concentration equipment with ILR, Elution, Regeneration and Electrowinning circuits with each circuit to be operated in accordance with specified parameters to optimise gold production/recovery. This also includes basic maintenance of operational equipment within the nominated areas. Strict compliance of all site security requirements, for the safe and secure handling of gold bullion.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a high level of security and vigilance as well as completing accurate records and log sheets
  • Operating various plant and equipment in accordance with documented safe work procedures
  • The operation of the gold recovery processes according to process parameters and control limits in accordance with documented safe work procedures
  • Contributing to the development of safe work procedures
  • Undertaking hazard analysis, ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported, and reporting any abnormalities when they arise
  • Liaising with Process Technicians and Shift Supervisors as required
  • Ensuring maintenance requirements are reported and/or carried out in accordance with safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, cleanliness, and tidiness around the gold recovery processes

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Minimum 1-2 year’s relevant experience in the mining industry on a gold processing plant.
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Excel & Pronto – desirable
  • Ability to train and transfer knowledge in alignment with the department training matrix.
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
  • Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
