Role Details

Reporting to the UG Fixed Plant Coordinator at St Ives, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative mechanical maintenance and repairs of the Underground & Surface Primary Infrastructure.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and would require the successful applicant to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.  Vehicle transportation is offered to and from site daily and relocation assistance will be considered for the successful candidate if required.

About the role:

  • Lead the day to day activities of the mechanical team inclusive of contractors in a cost-effective manner, assuring awareness of performance targets, access to the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned within company targets;
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production through ready access to critical parts, equipment and service providers by developing and maintaining sound working relationships and having contingency plans in place;
  • Provide ongoing leaderships and mentoring for the mechanical team through effect use of Performance Management Systems;
  • Develop and maintain training and development plans for the team;
  • Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management System standards by assisting with the implementation and participating in initiatives, regular meetings, investigations and training;
  • Maintain a safe work environment and effectively manage risks.

About you:

  • Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification
  • Valid WA C Class Drivers Licence
  • Solid experience in Mechanical Maintenance of underground mining fixed infrastructure including Paste & Batching plants, pumping and dewatering, primary and secondaru ventilation fans, and fixed plant compressors is desirable
  • Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift Tickets would further strengthen your application
  • SAP & AMT knowledge would be highly regarded
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
