We are now seeking a Mine Technology Specialist to join our Mining Systems team at Tropicana Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Lead Mine Technology, the role is based at our Tropicana Gold Mine, both on an 8/6 FIFO roster. We operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

In this role you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to the team that installs, maintains, and repairs the underground and surface OT data network infrastructure, site voice communication system and Fleet Management Systems.  Support will also be provided to the wider Tropicana teams and Digital Technology to ensure technology deployments deliver effective solutions to business needs.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Operational Technology Specialists or a growth opportunity for senior Technicians with a background in underground mine technology to support the team and take a proactive lead in Operational Technology deployment.  Your support and improvement responsibilities will be wide and varied across multiple technologies, constantly providing opportunities to learn new and exciting technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all Company safety policies and procedures ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and professional manner.
• Ensure Digital Technology strategies, standards and processes are complied with.
• Provide technical support to field-based technicians across multiple mining technology solutions.
• Support site technology roadmap development, adherence, budgeting and execution.
• Developing and maintaining technology documentation, work instructions and processes for OT systems.
• Provide project management support to operational technology projects to ensure business needs are delivered and supported.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.
• Carrying out root cause analysis, solution identification and resolution delivery
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure a high level of product support.

About You

• Tertiary or trade qualifications in a communications/electronics/electrical discipline
• Significant experience supporting underground and surface mining.
• On-site experience, with a comprehensive understanding of mining processes and strong knowledge of technical mining applications and technologies.
• Experience in Digital Radio technologies and antenna systems, including leaky feeder systems..
• Experience with Fleet Management, Machine Guidance, Asset Health and Operator Safety Systems.
• Extensive experience with OT networking including optic fibre and copper networks and fixed and mobile wireless network technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop constructive, positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors and suppliers.
• Experience with technology project management principles including planning, costing, scheduling and deployment.
• Existing and ongoing Australian work rights.
