Care and Maintenance Technician

We are offering you an opportunity as part of the team with the South Kalgoorlie Operations Processing Plant, which is currently in care and maintenance. This role will see you employed as a Technician or Fitter, reporting to the Underground Manager. Your primary role is to oversee non-operational maintenance of the processing plant, running the bore field, along with daily security checks and carrying out routine inspections.

 

This opportunity is based at our South Kalgoorlie mine site, 25 minutes out of town. You will be employed on a 5/2 4/3 or 4/3 roster working a flexible hour arrangement (20 to 40 hours per week) but are open to discussing an alternative working roster.

 

** This is a residential role. The successful applicant will reside in the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region. **

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years mining or manufacturing exposure
  • Fixed plant maintenance trade certificate preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of environments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • A strong and reliable work ethic
  • Ability to provide a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical

 

Preferred skills and experience

  • Operate a CAT loader and Bobcat (training can be provided)
  • Position would suit a person looking towards the later stages of their mining career but wanting to remain within the industry
