Position: Senior Long-Term Planning Engineer – Underground

 

Work Location: Jundee Operations

 

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off – FIFO ex Perth

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Produce practical development and production designs on new and updated geological resource models for mine areas within the broader underground mining complex.
  • Sequence and schedule mine areas for enhancement of the overall mine production and economic profiles.
  • Produce functional infrastructure designs allowing for successful execution of mining activities and schedules.
  • Undertake financial evaluation throughout the design process to a standard adequate for the investment review process and reserve reporting.
  • Be a key contributor to the evolution of the site mining strategy with a focus on the annual budget and life of asset time spaces.
  • Support with unit cost review and estimation processes.
  • Ongoing review of mine design and planning guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other planning (short and medium term), production and project engineers.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

  • Practical production and planning experience in mechanised hard-rock underground mining, preferably with exposure to highly productive narrow vein mining.
  • Competent user of Deswik packages (Sched, CAD, SO, MDM)
  • Good understanding of infrastructure planning and scheduling process and associated economics for project valuations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of developing operationally ready mine designs and schedules, managing engineering workflows, and technical study work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (desirable).
  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
