Light Vehicle Mechanic – Sunrise Dam Gold Mine

Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia’s premier gold mines. This large-scale underground operation employs more than 650 people and produces approximately 300,000 ounces of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

AngloGold Ashanti are currently seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our Maintenance team based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

Accountable to the Light Vehicle Supervisor, this role is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of a large and varied light vehicle fleet.

The main tasks of the role include:       

• Ensuring equipment complies with AngloGold Ashanti and state safety and operating requirements
• Service, diagnoses and repair of light vehicles and associated equipment
• Breakdown and preventative maintenance tasks
• Assist in the running of Light Vehicle Department/ Workshop

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Trade Qualification in motor vehicle engineering with a minimum of 6 years post trade experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic
• Demonstrated competence in maintenance of a light vehicle fleet and associated equipment
• Knowledge on Toyota fleet/vehicles
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair
• Knowledge of electrical / electronic systems diagnosis and repair
• Knowledge of air conditioning systems diagnosis and repair
• Experience with SAP
• A self-starter and have dedicated commitment to safety, quality and team work
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Current WA Drivers Licence
• Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
