About the role

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, the Project Engineer – Electrical is responsible for the delivery of engineering projects at Ernest Henry, supporting safe, reliable and efficient mining operations.

This role encompasses the design, implementation and management of electrical systems across mining projects, ensuring all work meets safety, statutory, quality and performance standards. You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors and site stakeholders to deliver projects from concept through to successful commissioning.

You will be part of a collaborative engineering and asset management team, contributing technical expertise, strong project execution capability, and a proactive safety mindset while supporting continuous improvement in electrical design and project delivery.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Leading engineering projects from concept through to completion
• Delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with safety and quality expectations
• Coordinating projects, operations, maintenance and contractor teams, project schedules, budgets and resource plans
• Reviewing and approving designs, technical specifications and equipment selection
• Developing electrical design packages including power distribution, lighting, control systems, instrumentation and automation
• Providing technical support during construction, installation and commissioning activities
• Conducting site inspections, monitoring progress and resolving technical issues
• Participating in risk assessments and implementing effective electrical safety controls
• Engaging with stakeholders and providing clear project updates, reports and documentation

About you

You are a qualified Electrical Engineer with experience delivering projects in mining or heavy industrial environments. You are confident managing projects in operational settings, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, and applying practical engineering solutions that support production, safety and asset reliability.

You bring strong technical capability, structured project management skills, and a commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

You will also bring:

• An Engineering degree (Electrical) or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience in electrical engineering within mining or heavy industry
• Experience delivering  engineering projects in an operational environment
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, control systems, automation and instrumentation
• Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Well-developed planning, problem-solving and prioritisation ability
• High standard of written and verbal communication
• Commitment to safety, health, environment and community practices
