We are seeking a Mine Surveyor on a permanent basis to join our Underground Mining team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

 

As an Underground Mine Surveyor, you will play a key role in mining operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Surveyor and working within a team of Surveyors, you will be responsible for managing and undertaking surveying activities to support the safe and efficient achievement of underground targeted mine production. This role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

 

About the Role

 

  • Maintaining a strong safety focus and ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements.
  • Establishing, verifying, and maintaining underground survey control network
  • Planning, prioritising, and delivering survey activities to support underground development, production, drilling, and mine planning requirements.
  • Conducting accurate as-built surveys, vertical void scanning, mine model updates, and development reporting.
  • Collecting and processing autonomous UAV stope void surveys
  • Liaising closely with other technical teams and mining contractors to provide accurate and timely survey information.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of pit wall slope monitoring system and reporting any suspected wall movement
  • Use innovative survey technology and digital solutions to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient survey information
  • Exposure to surface survey activities in the form of UAV surveys, stockpile volume reporting surface control, excavation permits, construction surveying, tailings deposition and structural monitoring.

 

About You

  • Bachelor or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying or a higher qualification
  • A Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) will be highly regarded
  • Authorised mine surveyor’s certificate (grade 1) or working towards this is preferred
  • Two or more years’ working experience in underground mining is preferred.
  • Experience with both underground and surface remotely piloted aircraft systems preferred.
  • Previous experience in underground mine or engineering surveying will be highly regarded
  • High level of computer proficiency with extensive experience with surveying software
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with the latest Leica and Trimble survey equipment.
  • Strong practical, planning, and prioritising skills, combined with the ability to build on previous experience.
  • Innovative and driven, with a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and developing a high-performing survey team
  • Western Australian C class Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Existing Australian working rights (mandatory).
