What’s the opportunity?

Northparkes is entering an exciting phase of growth and development, with major underground projects and a strong focus on safe, sustainable operations. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the systems, processes and people that help keep our workforce safe and our operations compliant. As the Safety, Systems and Compliance Team Leader, you’ll play a key role influencing how health, safety and risk are managed across site, while mentoring a team and driving continuous improvement in our HSE management systems.

Based at our Northparkes Operations and reporting to the Health, Safety, Emergency and Risk Superintendent, you’ll:

• Strengthen Northparkes’ safety culture by influencing leaders and teams to proactively identify, manage and reduce risk across the operation.
• Lead and mentor Health and Safety Advisors, building capability and ensuring consistent implementation of the Northparkes HSE Management System.
• Drive compliance and continuous improvement by maintaining HSE systems, audit programs, inspections and reporting processes that meet legislative and company requirements.
• Support operational and project teams with practical health, safety and risk management advice that enables safe and productive outcomes.
• Deliver meaningful insights through investigations, audits and risk assessments, helping leaders make informed decisions and prevent incidents before they occur.

Does this sound like you?

• Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety (or a related discipline), coupled with significant relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading safety, risk and compliance initiatives within a mining, heavy industry or similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management methodologies, HSE management systems and incident investigation processes.
• ICAM Facilitator qualification (highly regarded)
• Return to Work Coordinator certification. (desirable)
