Sunrise Dam Gold Mine | FIFO 4:3 (Monday to Thursday) from Perth

At AngloGold Ashanti, our people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our HR Business Partnering team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Superintendent HR Business Partnering, this is a site-based position where you will be the lead People representative on site and a key partner to the General Manager and their site leadership team. You will work closely with leaders to address workforce challenges, strengthen leadership effectiveness and ensure workforce considerations are reflected in operational decision-making.

This is a true partnering role, offering a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to influence outcomes across a complex operational environment

About the Role

As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will work alongside leaders to solve workforce challenges, improve leadership effectiveness, and support the delivery of operational objectives. You will bring a proactive and commercially focused approach, balancing day-to-day operational needs with longer-term organisational priorities.

You will provide expert advice on a broad range of workforce matters, from workforce planning and organisational change through to employee relations and leadership coaching. You’ll help leaders navigate complexity, manage risk and make informed decisions that support both their people and the operation.

You will take ownership of key people initiatives for the site, and play a central role in ensuring the site has the leadership, capability and culture required to achieve its objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with the Site Leadership Team to address workforce challenges and support the achievement of operational objectives.
  • Provide trusted advice, coaching and constructive challenge to leaders on the whole range of people-related organisational issues.
  • Lead workforce planning activities, including with key contracting partners, and support leaders to manage workforce risks, capability gaps and succession requirements.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and help leaders manage the workforce implications of business decisions.
  • Work with leaders to improve leadership effectiveness, workforce culture & engagement, and overall site performance.

About You

You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in complex operational environments and enjoys working alongside leaders to solve business and workforce challenges.

You bring sound commercial judgement, strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to influence, challenge and support leaders at all levels. You are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and navigating complex workforce issues.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Significant experience in a HR Business Partnering role within a complex operational environment, preferably mining, resources, construction or heavy industry.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing business decisions.
  • Solid employee relations experience, including confidence to manage complex people matters and investigations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate operational priorities into practical people strategies.
  • Confidence using data to draw insights that support decision-making and improve organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Versatility and adaptability to work in a mine based environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Permanent Australian working rights and the ability to obtain a current National Police Clearance.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to work as the Senior People & Capability representative on site, partnering directly with operational leaders to shape workforce strategy and drive meaningful business outcomes.

You will be part of a collaborative HR team that values curiosity, practical problem-solving and continuous improvement while supporting your professional growth and development.

If you are looking for a role where you can influence decisions, be part of a supportive team, and make a tangible impact in across our Sunrise Dam Gold Mining operation, we would love to hear from you.
