About the role

As the Emergency Management Advisor at Ernest Henry Operations, you’ll lead how the site prepares for and responds to emergency situations. Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Risk, Health & Safety, you’ll take ownership of emergency response capability, building a strong, ready and well-trained Emergency Response Team (ERT) while ensuring systems meet site and legislative requirements. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine emergency response expertise with training and leadership, playing a key role in keeping people safe and prepared.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Leading and developing the site’s Emergency Response Team and overall response capability
• Delivering training, simulations and coaching to build site-wide emergency preparedness
• Providing emergency care and supporting response activities when required
• Maintaining emergency systems, equipment and readiness across site
• Conducting audits, reviews and continuous improvement of emergency management processes
• Contributing to broader health and safety systems and site initiatives.

About you

You’re someone who thrives in high-responsibility environments and takes pride in keeping people safe and prepared. You bring a calm, capable approach and enjoy building team capability through training and leadership.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in emergency response, ideally within mining or heavy industry
• Certificate III in Mines Rescue and Occupational First Aid
• Training and assessment capability, or a strong interest in developing it
• Strong knowledge of emergency response and safety systems
• The ability to lead, coach and build capability in teams
• Confidence making decisions in high-pressure situations
• Solid systems skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
