A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shovel Operator at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd (KCGM).

Reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and safely operating a Komatsu PC8000 shovel, as well as other mobile plant as directed, to ensure targets outlined in the Open Pit mining schedule are achieved in a safe and timely manner.

The Shovel Operator works a residential roster – 7 on, 7 off , 12.5 hour days and nights.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum five (5) years all round open pit ancillary operating experience in a hard rock mine
  • Minimum two (2) years shovel (five hundred (500) tonnes) operating experience, for example, Komatsu PC8000
  • Strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture
  • Ability to direct and mentor those around you, whilst taking control of the loading zone
  • Must reside locally in the Goldfields region for this residential role
  • National Police Clearance (valid within last 12 months)
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
