Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

This is an opportunity to influence how an underground mine operates today while helping shape where it goes tomorrow. Working across both short and longer-term planning horizons, you’ll play a critical role in turning technical designs into practical plans that drive safe, efficient and productive mining outcomes.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Superintendent Mining Engineer, you’ll work closely with Operations, Geology, Geotechnical and Technical Services teams to ensure plans are achievable, risks are understood, and opportunities for improvement are identified before they impact performance.

Based at our Mungari Operations, you’ll:

  • Drive underground mine performance through the delivery of practical and achievable monthly and quarterly mine plans.
  • Support longer-term planning by contributing to life-of-mine schedules, forecasts and budget planning activities.
  • Monitor plan compliance and operational performance, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and value.
  • Develop mine designs that balance operational requirements, cost performance and long-term mine objectives.
  • Identify hazards and operational risks early in the planning process and incorporate effective controls into mine designs and schedules.

This role is offered on an 8:6 roster (Thursday to Thursday, 12-hour days) and is available residentially in Kalgoorlie-Boulder or FIFO from Perth.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

What suits your lifestyle best? We offer drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) and fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rosters at Mungari. You choose. Live local in the world-class mining community and enjoy our competitive live-local incentives and allowances. Or choose FIFO and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits that village life offers.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.

What we offer you

We support, develop and reward you to ensure you have a bright future. Here’s how we back that up:

  • Attractive salary package plus quarterly performance bonus.
  • Competitive live-local incentives and allowances for employees who choose to live locally.
  • Salary packaging options including novated car leasing and remote area living benefits.
  • Employee share scheme, giving you a real stake in our success.
  • Life insurance and income protection.
  • Attractive parental leave benefits.
  • Study assistance and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Referral bonus program.
  • Discounted health insurance.

Does this sound like you?

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ underground mine engineering experience across mine design, planning, scheduling and drill and blast activities.
  • Experience developing and managing monthly and quarterly mine plans in an underground mining environment.
  • Exposure to longer-term planning activities, including budget and life-of-mine scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across operations and technical teams.
  • Proficiency with mine planning and design software, ideally Deswik and Aegis.
