About the role

The Operator Cable Bolter is responsible for successfully completing all required training, and acquiring and demonstrating your capability to competently perform all required tasks in a safe manner in order to advance to Miner 1 at Red Lake Operation.  This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.

The position will be on an 7/7 (12 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario or FIFO with access to flights and accommodations from Winnipeg and Thunder Bay

We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $122,377 to $165,569 CAD.

Key result areas in this role include:

• Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 3, 4, 5 and 6.
• Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required licensing (i.e. utility vehicle).
• Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor.
• Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Comply with all safety procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards.
• Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
• Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

As an Operator Cable Bolter, you will possess a Secondary School Graduation Diploma and have successfully completed all relevant Common Core training modules. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:         

• Competency to perform all skills acquired as Miner 3, with aptitude to progress to the next level
• Demonstrated ability to drill and blast, slash, sub-drift, raise round & draft round
• Competency in reading mining prints and shooting lines
• Ability to lead in a production heading
• Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment
• Excellent communication abilities
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
• Willing and able to follow instructions and share knowledge and experience with others
• Ability to work effectively alone and in a team environment
