About the role 

Step into this newly created role and lead the charge on multi-million-dollar underground infrastructure projects that are anything but ordinary. From ventilation upgrades involving large diameter raise boring, to pumping system overhauls and relocation of critical paste infrastructure, this is your chance to work on projects that are rarely seen in a single career.

Reporting to the Senior Underground Project Engineer you will be well supported working in a collaborative and agile team, mentored by experienced engineers whilst building on your experience in project execution and leadership.

With over $20 million in capital works planned across the next few years, you’ll gain hands on experience in scoping, planning, and executing complex engineering solutions that directly shape the future of underground mining at Mungari.

You can choose to reside locally in Kalgoorlie on a 5:2:4:3 (10-hour day) roster, enabling you to be home every night with your family, or FIFO from Perth on a 4:3 (12-hour day) roster.

Your performance will be assessed against the following key result areas:

• Engage stakeholders to identify and define capital infrastructure needs
• Develop initial cost estimates and schedules for budget inclusion
• Create and communicate detailed project plans
• Provide refined cost and timing forecasts
• Identify the approvals pathway for each project and submit or initiate required documents for approvals.
• Translate the project plan into shorter term schedules including the short-range forecast and the weekly schedule for execution
• Monitor progress against scope, schedule, and cost metrics
• Manage contractors and ensure quality delivery of project components
• Complete accurate month-end cost accruals.

About you

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous mining project management experience
• 2+ years post-grad experience in mining engineering (underground preferred)
• A tertiary qualification in Mining, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Project and Deswik CAD (or similar)
• A proactive, safety-first mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills
