We are now seeking an Injury and Wellness Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Environment team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Health and Hygiene Superintendent, you will be responsible for the provision of high quality remote health care related to the management, prevention and treatment of injuries and illnesses. This role is offered on a 4/3 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

 


About the role

    • Undertaken worker focused case management to effectively manage safe and timely return to work for AGA workers
    • Provide Physiotherapy and functional assessment and treatment services to workers on site
    • Developing and overseeing physical, wellness and fitness programs
    • Oversight of contractor injury management cases, systems, and processes.
    • Provide technical support to line management for issues such as injury classifications, fitness for work, ergonomic evaluations and return to work programs
    • Review medicals and provide advice on the suitability, accommodation and fitness to work  
    • Arrange and undertake assessments for specific groups including the emergency response team and other required medical assessments
    • With the Registered Nurses, maintain medical files for the Tropicana employees and contractors and ensure the security and confidentially of such records
    • Assist the Health and Hygiene Team with the accurate reporting of occupational injuries and illness

 

About You 

People are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to collaborate with us, share your ideas and feel confident to challenge the status quo.  To be considered, we would like to see you have:

    • Tertiary level qualifications in Physiotherapy
    • Unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist
    • Demonstrated knowledge in injury management with practical experience
    • Proven knowledge of Western Australia’s workers’ compensation system
    • A hands-on approach to Physiotherapy treatment and assessments ideally in an Occupational setting
    • Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and motivating skills
    • Previous experience working on a mine site is preferred but not essential
    • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a broader health and safety team
    • A current WA ‘C’ Class drivers’ license
    • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
    • Current unrestricted working rights in Australia is mandatory
