The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join our Underground Mining team at our Sunrise Dam Gold mine.

 

Reporting to the Underground Mine Planning Superintendent, this role is responsible for the delivery of mine plans and schedules in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing industry best practice.

This role is on 8 days on /6 days off FIFO roster, where we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie
 

Accountabilities:
 

  • Produce mine designs for the underground mine to meet the budget physicals in alignment with the mine plan and strategy
  • Produce Stope and Development designs to support the Short-Term Plan and Budget.
  • Assist the Senior Planning Engineer with economic evaluations for production panels.
  • Work with the Drill & Blast and Operations teams to ensure all plans are fit for purpose and executable.
  • Work with the Geology team to optimise Grade Control drill platforms.
  • Be an active safety leader in line with the company’s values, policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring any risks to the plan are adequately communicated to all stakeholders.

 

 

About You

To be considered, we would like to see you have:
 

  • A Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering
  • Experience in mine planning, underground drill and blast and underground mine ventilation
  • Experience in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik)
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office programs
  • A current ‘C’ class Western Australian driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Ongoing permanent work rights in Australia
  • Be prepared to work to our company values on a daily basis
