About the role

The Superintendent Mobile Maintenance role offers the opportunity to be directly responsible for contributing to, developing and achieving the overall strategy and goals of the mine through the safe execution of mobile maintenance plans, budgets and methods for delivery of service and equipment repair strategies throughout the mine site.  You will oversee underground Mobile Equipment Maintenance and Site Services teams, as well as provide leadership to the mobile maintenance department to maintain a high level of standard in the quality of underground mobile equipment maintenance.

The roster will be 5 days on and 2 days off / 4 days on and 3 days off – 9.5 hour shifts and is a local role eligible for housing support by Taxable Benefit.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the Mobile Maintenance department by developing key strategies including directing, facilitating and coordinating, to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow up work, PM’s, planned work etc.) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
• Provide high-level support and advice to the Maintenance Manager.
• Accountable for optimising the fleet management system in order to minimise disruption and maximise productivity, efficiency and safety.
• Review and deliver timely and accurate operating budgets, regular forecasts and accruals used for effective cost management on a daily, monthly and annual basis.
• Actively manage the preparation of all maintenance plans with consideration given to risk (safety, business, operational), profitability and quality product.
• Partner with Operations to manage site conditions to achieve goals, objectives and budget.
• Develop the overall mobile maintenance strategy, supporting the goals of the site.
• Provide site-wide management and leadership for the successful implementation of the Evolution Mining reliability-focused maintenance management operating system.
• Review the design quality and detailed timeline for major projects and equipment overhauls.
• Assist with the development of the annual maintenance business plan that documents operational strategies and capital budget for maintenance work groups.

About you

As a Superintendent Mobile Maintenance, you will have a relevant Engineering degree, or minimum of recognized Journeyman trade certificate or diploma.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Previous demonstrated leadership experience (ideally in the mining industry).
• Extensive maintenance experience working with mobile mining equipment
• Extensive data driven maintenance planning experience with the use of KPI’s.
• Well developed ability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings and operation manuals.
• Good working knowledge of computerised maintenance systems (Pronto would be an asset).
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office software products.
• Solid background in mechanical equipment and working knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Familiar with underground mining environment.
• Competent computer skills.  Learns and adapts quickly to new software.
• Organisation, prioritization, and time management skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with good grammar and report-writing ability.
• Strong attention to detail and superior analytical skills.
• Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Provides clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and production targets
• Ensures training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the mine
• Manages performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports
• Possesses a strong work ethic
• Functions well under pressure and remains focused during challenging situations
