What’s the opportunity?

An opportunity has arisen through internal career progression to lead one of the largest and most diverse survey functions in the Goldfields. This is a Superintendent-level leadership role responsible for shaping the future of surveying across underground, open pit and project activities at Mungari.

Leading a team of approximately 15 survey professionals, you’ll have the opportunity to influence operational performance, drive innovation and develop the next generation of survey leaders. With strong organisational support for new technologies and a long-life operation that continues to invest in growth, this role offers genuine impact and long-term career opportunity.

Importantly, this opportunity exists due to planned internal career movement, with the current Superintendent remaining within the business. This provides continuity, a structured handover and access to valuable site knowledge and support.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you’ll:

• Lead and develop a high-performing survey team, building capability, mentoring future leaders and creating a strong culture of safety and accountability.
• Provide oversight of all underground, open pit, surface and project survey activities to support safe and efficient mining operations.
• Fulfil Authorised Mine Surveyor responsibilities and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and professional survey standards.
• Champion innovation and emerging technologies, helping the operation maximise value from modern survey equipment, drones, scanning technologies and spatial data systems.
• Partner with operational and technical leaders to provide accurate spatial data, improve decision-making and support the future growth of the operation.

Does this sound like you? 

• WA Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1).
• Tertiary qualification in Surveying (Degree or Advanced Diploma).
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing mine survey teams.
• Extensive surveying experience within mining, including both underground and open pit operations.
• Strong knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
• Previous experience liaising with regulatory bodies and managing survey-related statutory submissions, including mine suspension or closure plans.
• Experience managing survey systems, spatial data and operational reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Deswik or similar survey and mine planning software

Highly regarded:

• Experience leading larger survey teams and multidisciplinary functions.
• Experience with drones, photogrammetry, CMS and modern spatial technologies.
• A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and emerging survey technologies.
