Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Superintendent to join the team at our Jundee Operations, working an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.

 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • A clear development pathway towards an Alternate Underground Manager role – this role bridges the gap between technical work and shaping the direction of the mine operations.
  • The freedom and accountability to lead the technical teams and create value for the mine and its stakeholders.
  • Monitor the daily performance of production, infrastructure projects and be empowered to make changes to achieve the best outcomes.  
  • Take on technical challenges to find solutions and execute the work efficiently by providing clear directions and information regarding the schedule and plans to Engineers, Foreman and Shift Supervisors.
  • Identify business improvements, proposals of economic solutions, actions and progressing.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring to the engineering and technical roles. Develop personnel directly reporting to this position through coaching, training and regular appraisals.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

The ideal candidate will bring strong underground production and planning experience, including deep knowledge of highly productive narrow?vein mining and exposure to a range of mining methods. Demonstrated success in leading professional teams is essential. Proficiency in mine planning and design software – particularly Deswik CAD and Scheduler or similar platforms, as well as Ventsim is required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering
  • WA First Class Mine Manager Certification and completion of underground practical time (preferred).
