What’s the opportunity?

The current sub-level cave at Northparkes offers a solid 10-year mine life, including five years of development mining. Following this, Evolution Mining has a pipeline of future projects that will extend operations for another decade. Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, this role is a key part of our underground development operations. You’ll be responsible for executing long hole activities that keep our mining operations running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Carrying out precise long hole drilling using mechanised equipment, following design specifications with care and accuracy.
• Interpreting and following mine plans confidently, drilling to line, gradient, and profile with attention to detail.
• Setting up and troubleshooting long hole Drill rigs to ensure smooth and safe operation.
• Completing thorough pre-start checks and ensuring all equipment is safe and ready to go.
• Collaborating with the Shift Boss and previous crew to stay informed and aligned on the work area and daily priorities.

Does this sound like you?

We’re looking for a proactive and safety-focused individual who’s ready to contribute to a high-performing underground crew.

You’ll ideally have:

• Residency in the Parkes area or you’re open to relocating to this thriving regional community.
• At least 12 months of experience in a similar underground role. Experience operating Epiroc E7 rigs highly regarded.
• Certification to work at heights and security clearance to handle explosives, or the ability to gain this qualification.
• A strong commitment to safety, it’s how you work, not just a requirement.
• A current “C” Class Australian Manual Driver’s Licence.
