Events

Bowen has community events taking place all year round, with summertime beach events being the ones you can’t miss!

Rodeo by the Reef (January): Country meets coast at this rodeo for the entire family.

Walk to the Lighthouse (Winter): Daytime tides are low enough for the annual community Walk to the Lighthouse.

Bowen Family Fishing Classic and Wet Weekend (September): Traditionally held over the first weekend of the September School Holidays, it is the biggest family fishing competition in the country!

Not the Festival of Mangoes: Long story short, there was a competition run across regional centres and sadly Bowen’s “Festival of Mangoes” didn’t win. So, in true North Queensland style, they decided to celebrate their favourite summer fruit with their own festival.

Bowen’s Christmas Street Fair (December): Join the community for late night shopping, market stalls and more. Hosted by Bowen’s Locals 4 Locals, the annual Christmas Street Party is the perfect opportunity to support small businesses and find that unique Christmas gift.
