About the role

Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, the Mine Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising medium-term underground mine designs and schedules to support safe and efficient execution of the mine plan.

The role works closely with integrated planning, scheduling and underground operations teams to deliver practical, constructible designs aligned with short-, medium- and long-term planning horizons. Accuracy, stakeholder engagement and ownership of design deliverables are key to success in this role.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Conceiving and producing detailed lateral and vertical development designs
• Owning and producing area and level design notes
• Liaising with key stakeholders to deliver designs aligned to the mine plan and schedule
• Providing input into short-, medium- and long-term design and scheduling activities
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date design databases reflecting changes in priorities and plans

About you

You are an experienced underground mine planning professional with a strong focus on accuracy, constructability and delivery. You take pride in producing high-quality work with minimal rework, work effectively within a small and collaborative team, and engage confidently with stakeholders across planning and operations.

You bring:

• Degree in Mine Engineer or similar
• Underground mine planning experience
• Experience across core mine planning activities
• Mine planning software experience, with Deswik advantageous
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A team-focused approach with the ability to develop toward broader scheduling responsibilities
