Engineer – Structural (Projects)

About the Role

As a Structural Engineer, you’ll take ownership of delivering structural solutions that keep our operations safe, efficient, and future ready. This is a hands on role where you’ll manage Capital and OPEX projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, on schedule, and on budget while meeting all statutory and safety standards.

Your work will include:

• Designing and installing structural components such as platforms, supports, and anchor points.
• Leading major steelwork repairs and plant refurbishments.
• Managing consultants for larger structural projects and coordinating contractors.
• Developing business cases, scopes of work, and improvement initiatives.
• Preparing conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Conducting design reviews to ensure compliance with site and statutory requirements.
• Driving risk assessments, audits, and change management processes.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

This role offers variety, technical challenge, and exposure to first time site initiatives, making it far more engaging than repetitive maintenance work. You’ll join a supportive team that values innovation and continuous improvement.

About You

You’re a qualified Structural Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering practical solutions. With 5+ years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, you bring strong technical capability and project management skills.

What you’ll bring:

• A degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing structural projects from design through to execution.
• Strong planning, cost control, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Eligibility for National Engineering Registration or Chartered status (preferred).
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety, excellence, accountability, and respect.
