What’s the opportunity? 

Ernest Henry Operations is entering an exciting new phase, with extensive diamond drilling programs underway to define the next stage of the orebody. This role sits at the heart of that growth, contributing directly to the data, insights and geological models that will shape future mining decisions.

As a Resource Definition Geologist, you’ll work across drilling, data validation and geological modelling, turning high quality geological data into meaningful outputs that feed into future growth studies. This is an exciting opportunity to build technical capability while contributing to work that will have a long-term impact on the operation.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Senior Geologist, you’ll:

• Support diamond drilling programs, including contractor coordination and execution
• Conduct core logging, sampling and geological data collection
• Perform QAQC to ensure integrity of geological data and datasets
• Interpret geological and structural data to support resource definition and modelling
• Contribute to 3D geological modelling, targeting and project delivery
• Maintain and validate geological databases (e.g. acQuire).

Does this sound like you?  

You’re a technically minded geologist who enjoys working with data, drilling and interpretation, and wants to contribute to something larger than day-to-day operations. Ideally, you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience
• Experience in diamond drilling and core logging within mining or exploration
• Strong capability in data collection, QAQC and geological interpretation
• Exposure to geological modelling and/or resource definition work
• Proficiency with geological databases (e.g. acQuire) and modelling tools
• A high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
• Underground and/or exploration experience (highly regarded).
